Project: Build knowledge from multigenerational relations

"We live 20 to 30 years longer than before and there is still no philosophy that gives meaning to that new time."

Svetllana Alexievé.

The project XEC3: NETWORK OF EXPERTISE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF KNOWLEDGE SHARING.
is presented within the framework of the objectives of the GRODE (Research and Guidance Research Group) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (www.grode.org). To promote "the Construction of Shared Knowledge with the multigenerational relations" from the participation in the research works carried out by the students of Bachillerato, Ciclos Formativos, Degree, Postgraduate, Research in contexts of study centers .... These relationships allow the creation of knowledge-building networks that, in addition to cooperation between generations, strengthen mutual recognition and change representations and stereotypes as well as segregation on the basis of age. The participants belong to three population groups defined by age range: 18 to 25 students; teachers and professionals from different fields: 25-65; senior generation people without job responsibility: more than 60 years. The dynamics can recognize and share knowledge and experiences between the three generations, especially the senior generation, which offers more opportunities for the young generation issues, increased and updated knowledge of the senior generation and improves overall the formation of three generations by promoting cooperative relations

Dimensions Project:

This project does not meet the new proposals will add to the many activities that take place in training centers but intends to approach that somehow favors a shift in focus and improve opportunities for change the view between the different generations. Therefore provides the necessary core dimensions of any project that makes sense in itself, and can go beyond being a program or a specific action.

The general objectives:

Promote multigenerational relationships. Recognizing the knowledge and expertise of the senior generation. Share this knowledge with other generations (junior and intermediate) within the framework of activities that specifically aim to build knowledge. Turn cognitive ability, enhancing motivation for increasing knowledge and learning Open new horizons and perspectives to other generations. In addition to these general objectives include specific objectives for each generation.

Organization:

Obviously the project requires an organizational framework to guide the different moments of involvement of institutions and persons involved and organized their realization depending opportunities, resources. The best way to encourage their implementation is that there are different agencies involved, according to possibilities of each town or institution. Therefore it refers to different institutions that there are people who do the research. A social institution The educational institution.

The social institution:

can be a municipal or regional institution, a foundation, an organization in any form that would link with the community or the context in which the project is carried out. The aim is to promote the project and can affect social cohesion, the relationships between generations, beyond personal experience or Focus. This institution besides being a landmark visible can participate in functional and unite the debate should be generating project implementation. The role of this institution would essentially promote and disseminate the project to be a benchmark for participation and support, expand the group of senior people recognize and take public actions: presentations, broadcast media, etc ... the process followed to improve the impact and assessment. It will therefore copartner of the project and can play the role of dialogue with educational institutions, individuals and community mentors. Another of its functions is to provide seminars and meetings in order to discuss in the context of the community the role of senior people, opportunities, contrasting points of view, expanding the possibilities for action, encouraging their active citizenship involvement and social cohesion.

The educational institution:

Whatever his condition: high schools, study or research center, university or training center, is the environment where do the research. It is in this context that the teacher is responsible for guiding students in the production, implementation and evaluation of the research will therefore undoubtedly the meeting between students and senior person to guide specific content work. Students, in this case, is the key element of the project, who will carry out the research and those who receive support from their institution and teachers and will have the support of the senior person who is offered his skills, their knowledge and experience in the field in which he is conducting the research. These specific knowledge at times exceed the knowledge of teachers but in any case the person will assume the role of senior mentoring work if that support is focused on the specific content. This will be important organizational and virtual communication between different groups and different institutions in order to promote coordination, understanding and avoid bias due to lack of communication. At the moment the functions are explicit actions are specified and sets the work plan between three generations: teachers responsible for guidance and student assessment, the person involved senior contributing their knowledge and experience.

The Mentoring:

Once performed the initial meeting with the person who supervises the school work, students and senior author establishes the general aspects of the work. From the moment you decide the frequency, the spaces that provide the center or other places to continue the support and appreciate the contributions, needs and exchanges to advance work and start the relationship between senior author with alum as part of the mentoring represents. This support clearly defines the attitudes and actions of each member of the mentoring.

Dynamics:

Confident that this project aims to define with some precision the role it is supposed to perform each of the generations or groups that are involved.
  • What is expected of the educational institutions: Teachers work to develop research work tutors must inform students and promote a reception area to ensure the relationship between the students and the senior author. Will this teacher's ole to guide students in relation to the formal aspects of the work, evaluation criteria and characteristics that must work under the demands of school. Collaborate, as necessary, in the meetings that occur between the students of the senior people.
  • What is expected of the students: A student is responsible was responsible for the development of research as directed by the Center. Must comply with the agreements made with the person of the senior generation and finish the job for return and assessment process followed.
  • What is expected of the senior author Contributions to the theme, starting with prior knowledge of the sensitivity of accompanying young people, amateurs in the field who do not work in depth but basic. We will have to continue and sensitivity parameters for the mentoring relationship is satisfactory.
